Series consists of the client file project records of G.G. Runka Land Sense Ltd., Gary Runka's consultancy business (co-owned with Joan Sawicki until 1991). G.G. Runka Land Sense Limited was incorporated as a company on 30 Nov. 1978 and dissolved on 30 Nov. 2018. Most business activity ceased after Gary Runka's death in July 2013. The company provided comprehensive professional services in land inventory, environmental assessment, integrated resource management, land and water use conflict resolution and interdisciplinary land use planning. Over the course of the company's operation, Gary Runka and his firm consulted on 681 assignments ranging from very large projects (such as the Site C project) to small residential/commercial land capability assessments.

The Land Sense Ltd. client files generally include records such as correspondence, contracts, invoices, project reports, publications, ephemera, memoranda, map excerpts, legal documents, meeting materials, clippings, and handwritten notes. Some client files are accompanied by related maps, photographs, aerial photographs, and/or digital records on storage media.

Chander Suri fonds

This fonds encompasses the planning career of Chander Suri. The head planner for the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George from 1969 to 1977, Chander Suri embarked on numerous community plan projects in the Prince George area. Suri also worked as an independent planning consultant for local businesses and organizations. Chander Suri's records encompass numerous urban and rural projects facilitating population and industry growth within the RDFFG that spanned beyond Suri's career.

Textual records comprise official and draft planning documents, development reports, planning proposals, contracts, published regulations, socio-economic studies of regions near Prince George, financial and other studies for development sites, illustrated promotional packages/proposals for developments, regional/provincial guides and standards, and correspondence relating to Suri's professional consulting activities. The fonds contains a wide array of maps, architectural plans, and technical drawings ranging from municipal planning layouts, industrial land developments, and private property (commercial and residential) development projects, mainly from in and around Prince George.

These records are relevant to researchers of the subjects of land use, land development and land planning issues in the Prince George and Fraser-Fort George Regional District in the second half of the 20th century.

Fonds consists of textual, photographic, cartographic, electronic and promotional films/video recordings related to the mining operations of Cassiar Asbestos Mining Corporation (CAMC) and creation of Cassiar townsite. CAMC records primarily consist of records related to mining operations including construction, engineering, daily mining operations, administration of CAMC, tallies of extractions, labour and union activities, corporate events and visits by dignitaries. Townsite records are primarily visual representations of townsite construction, including the creation of health, education and community services including Cassiar's private hospital, school, library, as well as townsite images. Photographs include documentation of natural and man-made landscapes within the Cassiar region of Northern BC. Other holdings include a near complete run of Cassiar's community newspaper.

A set of 13 maps showing approximate waste extraction areas for different benches during certain months of 1972. Extraction dates are included accompanied by estimated total tonnages for each planned extraction area. All plans are hand drawn using colored pencils, lead and black ink. Approximate calculations of extraction tonnages are included within certain months. Numerical bench markers are included. Total tonnages from the previous year and previous surveys are included within certain plans.
