File consists of incoming correspondence from the general public and politicians regarding matters related to northern development and outgoing correspondence from Iona Campagnolo. Includes correspondence regarding construction and development projects in the Skeena riding; the Husky Bushplane; the 1977 drought; and correspondence to and from the Minister of Regional Economic Expansion Marcel Lessard. Predominantly contains records relating to the designation of northern BC under the Regional Development Incentives Act: a news release regarding the opening of an office in Prince George for the Department of Regional Economic Expansion; a copy of Trudeau's "Prime Minister's Statement at Press Conference, Vancouver, BC, July 8, 1977"; notes for a speech given by the Premier of British Columbia, W.R. Bennett on the occasion of the signing of the Canada-British Columbia Industrial Development Subsidiary Agreement and the Agriculture and Rural Development Agreement on July 8, 1977; background notes and news releases regarding the aforementioned agreements; and copies of the agreements. Also includes notes; memoranda; a brochure of the 1977 Interim Financial Report for Gregory Industries Limited; newspaper clippings; and notes for a statement by Minister Lessard to the Standing Committee on Regional Development concerning DREE's activities on May 26, 1977.
