      General note

In a note explaining the context of the photo to the archivist in 2015 Campagnolo explained the intent of the photo. In 1975 the 9 women who were MPs in the House of Commons expressed the request to be referred to as 'Ms.' in Parliament since marital status was a private concern. They maintained their right to access any and all previously 'male only' roles, including that of Santa Claus. To prove the point, Campagnolo dressed up as Santa Claus at the annual Caucus Christmas party.
