Photograph depicts a British locomotive, the "Dunrobin, " and a saloon coach on BCER track in New Westminster. It was on its second steaming trial since the 1940's after it had underwent a complete overhaul at the BCER locomotive shed in New Westmintster in 1966. "Dunbrobin" en route to Steveston via Marpole.

This 16mm film of Eagle Lake Sawmills was produced by Torajiro Sasaki in July 1952, likely commissioned or with permission from the sawmill owners, the Spurs. The film depicts logging and sawmilling operations at the Eagle Lake Sawmill, as well as shots of the bunkhouses, exterior shots of the mill, and the beehive burner. Employees of the mill are shown at work. In 1952, Eagle Lake Sawmill used both machinery and horses in their operations.

typed annotation on verso of photograph reads: "Heisler locomotive pulling CNR log cars to Eagle Lake Spruce Mills, Giscome, Circa 1925. Track ran from Giscome to Willow River area. This was the only standard gauge log railway to operate in the Prince George Area."

You will observes that this four horse team has two loads, each sleigh has 14 ft banks[??] and is loaded with about 5 thousand feet of logs. In one camp they have a cattepillar[sic] tractor that takes as high as eight sleighs from the bush to the loading [??]. Will try and get you a picture for you. Elizabeth has has very poor health since last March. May have to change residences befor[sic] long very poor doctor here."
