File consists of Canadian National Railway train orders from 1980 for the route between Prince George and Prince Rupert. Train orders are mainly to do with the upgrading of track bed and track (136 lb continuous rail and 12" depth rock ballast) to accept carousel train of coal from northeastern BC and wheat from Ridley Terminals on the outskirts of Prince Rupert. Coal trains from Tumbler Ridge started running 1 December 1983.

Also includes information on the 0-4-0 contractor's locomotive #25 "Samson", which David Davies believed had been used in the construction of the embankment at Lyon Creek (further research has determined this speculation to be unfounded).
