Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the Department of Health and Welfare (Health and Welfare Canada) and health and welfare issues in general, particularly those that apply to northern British Columbia. Includes correspondence regarding medical services and programs; funding for social services; abortion laws; food additives; smoking, alcohol, and drug addictions; northern BC hospitals; and programs for persons with mental illness or disabilities.
