Scope and content

This fossil of a small fly embedded in sandstone, is noted to be 40-70 million years old, placing it during the Locene-Oligocence Period. This was a gift to Minister Iona Campagnolo during a visit to Smithers, likely when she visited on a tour of the Skeena riding. Annotation in black pen on the sandstone reads: "Fossil Fly - Driftwood Canyon Park - Smithers B.C. Locene-Oligocene Period - 40-70 Million Years".
