              Photograph depicts an example of a CNR 'Buffet-Parlour' car #885 "Quesnel." It was built in 1929 and used mainly in the Montreal-Toronto area. The car was modernized in 1957 and then retired in 1974. It was installed by the Smithers Chamber of Commerce in 1975 and not connected to CNR trackage.

              Item consists of 10 pages of handwritten instructions for opening a ranger station in Smithers and annual Forest Insect and Disease Survey, dated 1980. Instructions include: directions for travel to Smithers House (including a small hand-drawn map), the amenities, directions for further renovations, aerial surveys and sampling schedule and instructions, and descriptions of insect problems.

              Fonds consists of 1 copy of a typed transcript featuring Winnifred Emily Warner Russell (nee Large) being interviewed by her daughter Bev Christensen. Content of transcript includes the topics of nursing training in Vernon (1923-26) and nursing in Grace Hospital in Vancouver, and General Hospitals in Prince George, Prince Rupert, and Smithers up until 1957. No audio recording gifted.
