    Classement

On the verso of each black and white photograph is a Roman numeral numbering system determined by the creator; for example “IV-I”. No key to this system has been found and no other records within this fonds correspond to this unique system. As a result the black and white photographs have been arranged by the Archivist according to media. Most of the slides were found contained within labeled slide boxes with handwritten annotations which may or may not have pertained to the subject matter of their graphic content. Many of the slides themselves display a handwritten arabic numbering system on their recto; however, as no key is provided for this system and as the numbering system is not consecutive, this system of organization was not clear enough to be maintained. Being unable to reconstruct this numbering system, the slides (when possible) were left in their original order as found within the boxes themselves.

        Note générale

Attributions & Conjectures It is possible that the creator of the 12 black and white photographs is not Mary Fallis as the initials “F.F.” or "G.F." appear after the Roman numeral numbering system annotation. This could possibly indicate that her brother “Frederick (Fred) Fallis” (1921-2000) or "George Fallis" was the photographer. - Conservation: The following slides were found without proper slide mounts, as such they were enclosed appropriately by the Archivist prior to their re-housing. - 2000.11.2. – Originals & Reproductions: All 24 – 25.5 x 20.2cm colour prints were reproduced from their slide originals by the Fraser-Fort George Regional Museum for a temporary exhibit featured at their institution prior to May 2000. - Related Material: Other information pertaining to Mary Fallis’ interest in botany, Northern Canadian landscapes and its peoples, photography and environmentalism can also be found in the significant donation of books made by her Estate to the UNBC Library in 1999 where they now reside in both general and special collections
