Subseries includes material collected by Kent Sedgwick regarding the Duke of Sutherland. The Duke of Sutherland is a title in the Peerage of the United Kingdom. The fourth Duke of Sutherland was Cromartie Sutherland-Leveson-Gower who lived from 1851 to 27 June 1913. Toward the end of his life, the 4th Duke began moving his wealth and life to Canada. The Duke owned land across British Columbia and Alberta and contributed to various settlements, including Strathnaver, BC; Windermere, BC; Brooks, AB; and Clyde, AB. The Duke of Sutherland owned the Sutherland Land Company, creating and selling plots in BC and Alberta. He also worked closely with the Canadian Pacific Railway to support immigration and settlement of the area.

File consists of notes and reproductions relating to Luther Collins Gunn and L.C. Gunn Park. Luther Colins Gunn was a survey engineer who had done work for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Pacific Great Eastern Railway when he arrived in Prince George. The L.C. Gunn trail follows the same route used by Gunn when surveying the rail routes in the Prince George area. Includes: "Gunn Point" typescript document by Ted Williams for the Heritage Advisory Committee (1985); "A Proposal - The L.C. Gunn Viewpoint" typescript letter to Mr. Mac Norris, president of the B.C.R. Company from Ted Williams and the Heritage Advisory Committee (27 Jan. 1987); and "Item of business, proposed use of District Lot # 486" typescript letter from the Heritage Advisory Committee to Beverley Pitman, Planning Assistant (31 May 1979). Also includes photographs depicting the Moffat farm (2005).

Yukon Telegraph Trail

File consists of notes and reproductions relating to the Yukon Telegraph Trail, which runs through British Columbia from Ashcroft in the south to Atlin in the North. The telegraph line was constructed by the Dominion Government Telegraph Service from 1898 to 1901. The groundwork for this telegraph line was laid by the Collins Overland Telegraph and the Western Union Telegraph (Russian-American Telegraph). File also includes photographs depicting a cabin at Bobtail Lake along the telegraph trail (1977).

Knox McCusker Collection

The Knox McCusker Collection consists primarily of photocopies of publications written by Mary Henry (1931-1935); annual reports; articles and papers written about Knox McCusker (1935-1997) as well as research materials pertaining to his life; articles and speeched written by Knox McCusker and general correspondence regarding surveying. Aside from these photocopies are some original records; namely: original correspondence between McCusker and G.G. Aitken (1934-1938); photographs (ca. 1930-1950); McCuskers 1909 certificate enabling him to be an Articled Pupil with the Dominion Land Surveyors; and an interview with McCusker conducted by J. Frank Willis (CBC, 1954).

The Prince George Railway & Forestry Museum Society Collection consists primarily of textual, photographic, and cartographic records related to the regional developments of the railway industry in Northern BC. A predominant portion of the collection is made up of material from the Canadian National Railway; other railways represented include the Pacific Great Eastern Railway, the British Columbia Railway (BC Rail), the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway, the Grand Trunk Railway, the Intercolonial Railway, and the Okanagan Express. Significant geographical areas covered include Prince George, the Peace River Region, Terrace, Bulkley Valley, Hazelton and Prince Rupert.

The forestry industry is represented in the collection with operational and financial records from Fyfe Lake Sawmill Ltd., which operated southwest of Prince George in the 1950s.

The collection has been organized into series according to creator, each of which also has been arranged to subseries, file and item level, where applicable. This collection consists of eight series, as follows:

This collection is of Kutcho Creek Camp that was set up by a crew led by Cassiar's Chief Geologist Bill Plumb in 1966.

There are six photographs showing the temporary buildings, paths and barrels. These photos were taken from a high hill looking down at the camp. Two photographs depicts the valley of Kutcho Creek area, and the exploration camp is in the distance at foot of hill. One photograph depicts valley of Kutcho Creek area with a body of water in foreground, and mountains in background.
Another photograph depicts man believed to be Matt Bell standing in Kutcho Creek exploration camp. There are tents on either side, a wood structure in background and a sign on wood post: "PLUMB BLVD."
