Archives in Prince George

File consists of clippings, notes, and reproductions relating to the development of an archive in Prince George and at the University of Northern British Columbia. Conferences and Service

Although Dr. Robin Fisher's career at the University of Northern British Columbia was largely in administration, he continued to give papers at scholarly conferences as well as provide service to his University and community. Series contains records relating to conferences attended, spoken at, or organized by Dr. Fisher. Also includes records relating to community and University service such as his participation in committees and the UNBC Faculty Association.

Teaching

Series consists of course development material created by Dr. Robin Fisher for his UNBC undergraduate and graduate courses. Dr. Fisher primarily taught in the Department of History and was instrumental in the development of the History Program at UNBC. Records include syllabi, course readings, resource material, and correspondence.

Personal Records

Series consists of records relating to Dr. Fisher's appointment at UNBC as professor, founding chair of the Department of History, Dean of Arts and Science, and Dean of the College of Arts, Social and Health Sciences. These employment records include appointment letters, annual reports, correspondence, and Curriculum Vitae.

Photographs and correspondence

File consists of correspondence to Dr. Fisher and accompanying photographs. Includes eight postcards, a brochure for the UNBC Arts & Science programs, and a letter from UNBC Chancellor Iona Campagnolo. Also includes photographs of: Dr. Fisher and other faculty at UNBC Convocation (1995 or 1996?), Dr. Fisher with Bridget Moran, Dr. Fisher with Mary-Ellen Kelm and others at an honours dinner, and Dr. Fisher being recognized for his work by Dr. Weller.

BC Studies Conference 1999

File consists of correspondence, presentation notes, and a program for the 1999 BC Studies Conference at Simon Fraser University. Dr. Fisher presented a paper ntitled "Native History in British Columbia in the Twenty First Century".

"Northern Perspectives: Visions of Northern Canadian History" workshop

File consists of correspondence, presentation notes, and a program for the "Northern Perspectives: Visions of Northern Canadian History" workshop. The workshop was part of the Canadian Historical Association Meeting, held as part of the Congress of Learned Societies, Sherbrooke/Lennoxville, Quebec in June 1999.

Native title seminar, La Trobe University

File consists of correspondence, presentation notes, and a program for "Native Title in Comparative Perspective: Australia, New Zealand and Canada". This seminar was held at La Trobe University in Melbourne, Australia on 29 July 1999.

UNBC Faculty Forum

File consists of records related to the organization of a UNBC Friday seminar series by Dr. Robin Fisher and Dr. Karin Beeler. The intent of the seminar series was a research "show and tell" for UNBC faculty members. Includes a booklet of UNBC Academic Profiles for September 1993.

Council of Unions in the Colleges and Institutes (CUCI) conference

File contains a conference program for the Council of Unions in the Colleges and Institutes (CUCI) conference on 6 Nov. 1993 at the College of New Caledonia entitled "Advanced Education in Northern British Columbia: Chaos or Coordination?". As stated in the program, "the purpose of this conference is to assess the impact of UNBC and other new educational deliverers on northern communities; to identify concerns about educational planning, coordination and access, job security, and other work-related issues".
