The Archdeacon W.H. Collison fonds consists of textual materials, maps, published materials and photographs all documenting Collison’s life and work with North Coastal First Nations communities in British Columbia. Types of records found within this fonds include manuscripts, sermon notes, correspondence, oral history summaries, monographs, cartographic items, photographs and postcards. The Collison fonds also includes some records created by his children and grandchildren as well as a family tree created in 1986. The Collison fonds has been divided into four series.

Series contains publications on the following subjects: linguistics, First Nations studies, anthropology, museum studies, the Missionary Society of the Church of England, the Metlakatla Inquiry, material culture and Canadian geography. It is believed that items published prior to 1922 had been collected by the Archdeacon W.H. Collison, while those published post 1922 (the year W.H. Collison passed away) were collected by both his son W.E. Collison and then his grandaughter Joyce Collison.

Maps within this series document the placer streams, islands and harbours of the Queen Charlotte Islands; as well as the mining properties located within the vicinity of Stewart, BC.

This series consists of material created by various societies, companies, railways, unions and government branches for the use and instruction of railway companies and employees. Includes publications, time tables, training materials, union materials, forms, maps and plans related to rail operations in North and South America, but predominately related to Canadian railway operations. Also comprises material created by several American and Canadian railways and transportation companies.

Newspaper consists of the recto and verso of 2 pages (p. 1-4). It was published in Aiyansh on the Nass River in British Columbia in April 1895 and presents a missionary's perspective of regional First Nations traditions and current affairs of the day.

The Grand Trunk Railway and Grand Trunk Pacific Railway series consists of administrative records, correspondence between railways, and ephemera. Also consists of maps and technical drawings depicting Grand Trunk Railway and Grand Trunk Pacific Railway rail lines and structures.

This journal by Dr. Lazier consists of his obstetric notes on pregnancies, childbirths, infant deaths, and maternal deaths during his practice from 1901 through 1918 and 1922 through 1930. Some of the locations and regions covered in the journal include: Prince George/Fort George and the surrounding area, Nakusp, Arrowhead, Beaton, Camborne, Princeton, Fraser Lake, Burns Lake, Grayson (Saskatchewan), Neville (Saskatchewan), Ranfurly (Alberta), Minburn (Alberta), etc. A few pages at the back of the journal consists of a child’s writing in pencil of a “list of made up words” and a list of “German words.”

Small booklet containing handwritten notes of what appears to be a speech prepared by W.H. Collison on the topic of traditions and events he’s been witness to along the North West Coast of B.C.

Pacific Great Eastern Railway series consists of correspondence between departments, records pertaining to train movements, and ephemera. Series includes publications concerning the topics of unionized labour, railway operation, and public interest. Also consists of maps and technical drawings depicting Pacific Great Eastern Railway lines and structures.

The Miscellaneous Forest History Material series consists of material created or used by various logging and pulp mill companies. Includes forms, union materials, maps, plans and other records related to the forestry sector in British Columbia. The series also comprises publications related to equipment and employee training, and correspondence and memorandum developed by B.C. Chemicals, a division of Canfor.

File contains slides and photos pertaining to the history of the Aleza Lake Experiment Station and the community.

The Canadian National Railway series consists of administrative records, safety records, correspondence between departments, labour records, records pertaining to train movements, maintenance records, and ephemera. Includes publications concerning the topics of unionized labour, railway operation, maintenance of way, handling of hazardous materials, safety, public interest, and the two Royal Tours of 1939 and 1959. Also consists of maps and technical drawings depicting Canadian National Rail lines and equipment.

Item consists of one funeral ledger that contains personal information regarding individuals' causes of death, their name, age, and place of residence. The ledger also contains information regarding payment for caskets or other funeral arrangements.

Transcript of the contents of the Richard Corless Funeral Ledger made by the Prince George Genealogical Society. Transcript includes a column of comments by the transcriber providing some additional information and corrections.

File contains photocopies of timber sale contracts and general correspondence regarding timber sales between the Department of Lands and Forests and surrounding mills of the Aleza Lake Experiment Station.

Item is an original "Northern Interior Forest Experiment Station: Report of Preliminary Investigations" by Percy Barr. Includes original photographic prints.

File contains reports and essays on certain research projects ranging from the year 1924 to 1984. The topics of these research projects include cutting methods, guidelines for marking techniques, and scarification.

File contains 1998 proposals and other correspondence between the Ministry of Forests and the Aleza Lake Steering Committee regarding the future management of the Aleza Lake Research Forest.

File consists of documents, radiograms, and correspondence regarding various administrative issues ranging from costs, living conditions, timber sales, research projects, and queries from the public. Much of this correspondence is between Tim Decie, Forester in Charge of Aleza Lake, and R.P Silsbury, Head of the Research Division between the years of 1953 and 1967. Also included are contracts and receipts from 1964, documents regarding the closure of the Aleza Lake Experiment Station, and meeting minutes.

File contains photocopies of timber sale contracts and general correspondence between the Department of Lands and Forests and Northland Spruce Lumber.
