Photograph depicts a British locomotive, the "Dunrobin," and a saloon coach. The locomotive was on a test run between New Westminster and Steveston on BCER track beside the Rayonier lumber mill that had since been consumed by a fire. As part of its recent overhaul, automatic couplings were fitted in the front of the locomotive and at the rear of the coach. A bell was also placed under the main frame and lamps as well as a generator were added.

The locomotive was about to start a roundtrip to Steveston via Marpole on the BCER track in order to test steaming, bearings, running time, and water consumption. It was its second steaming as it had underwent an overhaul in 1966 not since done until 1940's in the U.K.

Photograph of a team of horses pulling a large load of logs. Several men are posed around the sleigh. Printed annotation on recto reads: "Eagle Lake Spruce Mills, Giscome, B.C." Handwritten annotation on verso reads: "4/ This is them after loading. You will observes that this four horse team has two loads, each sleigh has 14 ft banks[??] and is loaded with about 5 thousand feet of logs. In one camp they have a cattepillar[sic] tractor that takes as high as eight sleighs from the bush to the loading [??]. Will try and get you a picture for you. Elizabeth has has very poor health since last March. May have to change residences befor[sic] long very poor doctor here."

Photograph depicts the eastern portal of CPR Mount Macdonald Tunnel. The door was lifted vertically upwards. The ventilation system pushed air into the tunnel from a halfway vertical shaft, purging the bore of exhaust gases that came from the locomotives.

Photograph depicts a 2 truck 50 ton Shay locomotive owned by Elk Falls Ltd. It was built about 1925 and brought to Vancouver Iron and Engineering Works from somewhere on Vancouver Island and was refitted from June 25 to August 16, 1960. It received new tubes, odd repairs, cladding, painting, and a given number. It came to Elk Falls in Campbell River in August or September 1960.
