Photograph depicts the CPR at Haig, B.C. It is at mile 40.1 from North Bend. Since about 1970 it has ceased to exist as it no longer appears in the staff timetables. Prior to the building of the road/rail bridge at Hope in 1916/1917 it was the closest depot to Hope, which was reached by ferry. The road to the former ferry dips down on the right of the photo behind the clothes lines. The view is looking northeast.

Photograph depicts the CPR at Haig, B.C. It is at mile 40.1 from North Bend. It is close to Hope but on the opposite side of the Fraser River. This is a water tank car, formerly a locomotive tender, possibly #41575. It had no dates.

Photograph depicts the CPR at Harrison Mills. It is at mile 68.1 from North Bend and about 8 miles west of Agassiz. The depot has long since been removed. The nearest cabin was manned, presumably by the bridge tender/swing span operator of the bridge. Immediately behind the photo spans the Harrison River. The swing span carries a double track and is interlocked.

Photograph depicts the CPR swing bridge crossing the Harrison River at Harrison Mills. It is a plate girder bridge carrying a double track. The bridge tender occupied a shanty at the east end of the bridge at mile 68.3 from North Bend. The timetable states that trains may proceed at restricted speed after stopping, if the tender fails to appear after 4 whistle signals and the hone signals show stop.

Photograph depicts the Abbotsford CPR depot. It was built circa 1910-1914 and was the second depot built by the CPR in the town. It is at mile 6.7 on the the Huntingdon branch from Mission City. It was last used for passenger traffic in October 1959. It is No.5 standard design CPR depot.

Photograph depicts the Mission City CPR depot located at mile 87.3 from North Bend in Cascade Substation. It was built in 1902 and add onto in 1909. It has living quarters on the 2nd floor that are still in use, which is quite rare for BC in 1973.

It has living quarters on the 2nd floor that are still in use, which is quite rare for BC in 1973. It is 41.7 miles from Vancouver and 2, 839.6 miles from Montreal.

Photograph depicts the outer western limits of the CPR yard at Haney. The car is loaded with poles about 15 to 20 ft. log, 2 sets per car, which had been loaded somewhere else in BC within the previous week.

Photograph depicts the CPR line 3 miles south of Spences Bridge at road overpass. There is a Sperry rail fault detection car moving steadily up the grade at about 30mph. It did not stop at Spences Bridge. The view is looking south, downhill.

Photograph depicts a CPR storehouse at Mission City. It was marked as "Petroleum Store" but in fact was holding speeders and miscellaneous track equipment. It was sited on the north side of the track at the extreme east end of the depot platform.

Photograph depicts the CPR line 3 miles south of Spences Bridge. There is a outbound freight train moving down the grade at about 11 am. A Sperry rail fault detection car had just passed in the opposite direction. Later discovered that a CN derailment north of Spences Bridge had diverted all the CN traffic to the CP tracks, which explains the slow movement of the train.

Photograph depicts old CPR boxcar #42018 at Savona, on the west end of Kamloops Lake. It was built in July 1922 and is now in work service. It has steel ends and frame but wooden sides.

Photograph depicts a line of cabooses on the caboose track at Revelstoke. There are rumours that the vehicles are to become obsolete by replacing them with a monitoring device attached to the last car of a train.

Photograph depicts CPR caboose #437149 at Revelstoke. It was built in June 1945 and is made of wood, which is a rarity because most cabooses are now all metal. It was used for work trains, but certainly not for main line regular freight workings.

Photograph depicts the CPR line at Notch Hill in the Shuswap. At one time this was a busy place, as helper engines were stationed here to push heavy trains over the hill. This spur is on the north side of the depot and has rails from 1902. The view is looking west, depicting the mainline to the left and just in view.

Photograph depicts a lumber mill for Evans Wood Products Ltd. In Savona. It shows filling chip cars that are taken to Weyerhaeuser Pulp Mill in Kamloops, 25 miles to the east. And loading, the cars run down grade to the spur end. The total capacity of the spur is about 6 cars.

Photograph depicts the CPR Mission Bridge on the Huntingdon Branch. The view is looking north from the open swing span. The bridge is about 1700 ft. long and consists of eight 160 ft. tress spans, one 230 ft. swing span, and 3 girder spans. Seven of the eight truss spans are seen in this view, with the Fraser River in freshet.

Photograph depicts the CPR Mission Bridge on the Huntingdon Branch. It shows the daily southbound way freight train at about 12:30 hours STD time, crossing the bridge. The train consisted of two locomotives, about 35 cars, and a 1920 wooden caboose. The lead locomotive was CPR 8510, GM class 0-4-4-0, built in 1954. There is a 10 mph speed restriction on the bridge.

Tow started at federal wharf at Mission City. The span opens for river traffic every 2 or 3 days. The view is looking east and upstream.

Photograph depicts the Mission City rail and road bridge. It is owned by the CPR and was opened in 1891. It was used by road vehicles between 1 July 1927 and the 23 June 1973, using a one way flow system. On the latter day, a new high level road bridge was unofficially opened. By early July 1973, the CPR had removed the wooden deck planking.
