Records are organized in alphabetical name files, divided into two parts: correspondence and informational material regarding organizations and businesses, and, correspondence sent from individuals about private sector concerns (such as the economy, housing, national policies, and local issues). Also includes a single name file relating to Alcan Smelters and Chemicals Limited.

Energy, Mines and Resources

Subseries consists of documents and correspondence regarding the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources and issues about mining, energy generation, and pipelines in northern British Columbia. Includes correspondence about the state of energy in Canada; wind, solar, and other forms of alternative energy; conservation of energy; use of nuclear power, coal, oil, and natural gas in Canada; and general inquiries about the oil and gas industry. Also includes correspondence regarding proposed mining projects, particularly in northern BC; the development of pipelines in Canada; the environmental impacts of mining and pipelines; and inquiries and statements of opinion about proposed pipelines such as the Kitimat-Edmonton pipeline, the Mackenzie Delta pipeline, and the Alaska Alcan pipeline. Supplemental records accompany much of the correspondence and include reference material, newspaper articles, and informational reports.

Northwood Pulp & Timber

Subseries consists of administrative records concerning Northwood Pulp and it's renamed successors Northwood Pulp and Timber Ltd. (1972-1998) and Northwood Forest Industries Ltd. (1979-1998). These records were created or accumulated by Adam Zimmerman during his tenures as the company's President, Director, and Chairman. Includes administrative records, financial records, sales and marketing material, market research, competitor analysis, operational records, and information on the company's many acquisitions and divestitures. Also contains records regarding government liaison, environmental issues, labour relations, and its operations in Prince George at the Northwood Pulp Mill.

Subseries consists of records regarding British Columbia Forest Products that were created or accumulated by Adam Zimmerman during his tenure as an Executive Director of the company after it was acquired by Noranda in 1969. Includes annual reports, director's meeting materials, proposals, financial records, and information relating to possible acquisitions of various companies. Also contains records regarding BC Forest Products' acquisition by Northwood Pulp (Noranda).

Mead Corporation

Subseries consists of records regarding the Mead Corporation that were created or accumulated by Adam Zimmerman during his tenures as President of Northwood Pulp and its successor, Northwood Pulp & Timber. Mead Corporation formed an agreement with Noranda Mines to create Northwood Pulp Ltd.; each company had a 50% stake in the newly formed venture. Primarily includes records relating to the pulp agreements between Northwood Pulp and Mead Corporation. Also includes sales records, financial records, and correspondence.

Critical turning points: women engineers within and outside the profession

Subseries documents "Critical Turning Points: Women Engineers Within and Outside the Profession," a study funded by a Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council (SSHRC) strategic grant. The study was broken up into four projects: "Women in Engineering: A Historical Overview," a project based on analyzing statistical and demographic data to establish a statistical profile of women in engineering; "The Explorers: Early Women Engineers," a project based on conducting oral histories and examining archival material to establish the reasons for early engineers choosing their careers; "Women's Exit from Engineering Studies, a project based on using semi-structured interviews to analyze reasons for women departing from their degree programs; and "Women's Exit from the Engineering Profession," a project based on open-ended unstructured interviews of former male and female engineers to analyze their reasons for leaving the profession. Ainley was a co-investigator on the study, along with the principal investigator, Peta Tancred, and co-investigators Susan Whitesides and Gillian Rejskind, and was involved in all the projects, except, "Women's Exit from Engineering Studies." Subseries consists of audio tapes and transcripts from interviews with female engineers, questionnaires from a project on Queen's University female engineering graduates by Alison Bowe, research notes, articles, conference proceedings, brochures and correspondence.

Records include newspaper clippings, reference material, candidate lists, campaign pamphlets, and reports. Includes correspondence regarding by-elections, electoral processes, and voting legislation.

Fitness and Amateur Sport Operations

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the operations of the Fitness and Amateur Sport branch of the Department of National Health and Welfare. Records include newspaper clippings, reports, newsletters, memoranda, brochures and pamphlets, reference material, budgetary documents, news releases, and speeches by Minister Campagnolo. Records include reports, newspaper and magazine clippings, posters, newsletters, meeting minutes, pamphlets and brochures, news releases, itineraries, and speeches by Minister Campagnolo and others. Includes correspondence regarding funding and requests for financial assistance for fitness programs and facilities, Campgnolo’s green paper entitled “Toward a National Policy on Recreation” and feedback on the publication, the promotion of physical fitness programs, employee fitness and the Exercise Break Program, ParticipACTION, physical education in schools, fitness programs for seniors, the Canada Fitness Award Program, and sports and recreation programs for First Nations people. "Sex @" Poems

Fawcett began a project in 1975 when he was 31 with the premise of summarizing his understanding of sex at various ages. Manuscripts include "Sex at 31", "Sex at 34", "Sex at 38", and "Sex at 45". These manuscripts were the basis for "Gender Wars".
