Scope and content
File consists of general material regarding steam and diesel industrial railway locomotives. Predominantly consists of photocopy reproductions, excerpts from books, and clippings from periodicals. Includes information about various industrial locomotives, such as those manufactured by Plymouth, General Electric, Davenport, Whitcomb, Vulcan Iron Works, Baldwin, Trackmobile, Dominion, and others. Also includes the following works: "Mining and Tunnelling Locomotives in British Columbia Today" by Mervyn T. Green; "Industrial Strength Railfanning" by Fred Clark; "Non-Steam Industrial Locomotives of B.C.: Part 1 and Introduction" by Jeremy Lambert; "Fort George Railway"; "Gen-set Units Make the Scene on Vancouver Waterfront"; and "List (Incomplete) of Narrow Gauge Locomotives Used by Contractors Building Railways in BC in period 1905-1925" compiled by Davies.
