Handwritten annotation on verso of photograph: "Empress Hotel South Fort George, B.C.", on recto: "according to Mrs [illegible] Williams this Hotel burned down New Years 1914 and the owner collected insurance & moved to Anchorage Alaska. (smell of kerosene)", "Boucher [sic]".
