Fonds consists of textual records, photographic items and published reports related to professional life and career of Bob Harkins, broadcaster, local historian, and former city councilor. Includes textual and photographic items related to development and history of city of Prince George and the Central Interior of BC region history and development in late 20th century. Items includes an unpublished manuscript on the life of Ray Williston by Eileen Williston, an unpublished paper on the history of technological change in logging industry; an unpublished paper on the history of radio and television in Prince George; a report related to the creation of a university for Northern British Columbia (1989) and proofs of the publication "Wild Liard Waters: Canoeing Canada's Historic Liard River" by Ferdi Wenger, c.1998. Also includes photographic files including CKPG Radio Studio photographic items c.1953; and photographs and correspondence regarding guide outfitter Skook Davidson c.1975.

Series consists of records reflecting the activities of the Dezell and Rustad families. Series include mayoral records from Bea and Garvin Dezell when Garvin served as Mayor of Prince George. Series includes materials celebrating Bea Dezell's life created by her family. Series also includes fundraising efforts for the Northern Medical Programs Trust. Finally, series includes a collection of "spruce" dollars and commemorative coins.

File consists of 2 Prince George Golden Jubilee (1965) coins and 3 Corporation of the District of Kitimat (1953) coin.

Subseries consists of material collected and created by Kent Sedgwick for research regarding various areas within Prince George. These files include material on neighbourhoods and notable areas within the city, as well as the Regional District of Fraser-Fort George. Notable areas include the Fort George Canyon, downtown Prince George, and Cottonwood Island. The files primarily contain notes and newspaper clippings relating to the development and history of these areas.

This scrapbook, entitled "My Two Year Term on the Teen Town Council", was created by Howard Foot to document his involvement in the Prince George Teen Town Council. Howard Foot was the elected "mayor" of the Prince George Teen Town Council for the 1958-1959 term. The British Columbia centennial year was 1958; Teen Town was involved in centennial event planning. The scrapbook includes newspaper clippings from the Prince George Citizen relating to Prince George Teen Town events and the Teen Town Council. These clippings include mention of other Teen Town Council members, including Brian Fawcett who later became a nationally-recognized Canadian writer.

Original photographic prints and reproduced photographs relating to Prince George Teen Town are pasted in and interleaved into the scrapbook. Also interleaved into the scrapbook is a 26 February 1959 issue of the Prince George Echo newspaper. The newspaper issue has a feature article about a Prince George custom car show organized by Howard Foot.

Subseries consists of newspapers collected by Kent Sedgwick and documents regarding the newspaper history of Prince George and region. Includes newspaper clippings relating to the history of newspapers in Prince George; issues of "The Spruce Needle" Prince George community newspaper; issues of the "Prince George Echo" newspaper; special editions of the Prince George Citizen Newspaper; and issues of "The Islander" magazine from Victoria.

The fonds consists of audio reels and dubbed audio cassettes of a radio programs hosted by Jack Carbutt at CKPG Radio in Prince George, and includes transcriptions in electronic and textual format. This collection has been divided into the following three series: "Audio Recordings" (2000.21.1); "Transcriptions" (2000.21.2); and "Miscellaneous Materials" (2000.21.3).

File consists of several notes and letters addressed to Bea Dezell or Mr. and Mrs. G. Dezell. Most of the letters are short thank you notes but two letters concern her support for the creation and expansion of UNBC.

Series consists of original audio reels of CKPG radio programming broadcasts recorded in Prince George from 1960 to 1979, as well as, dubbed audio cassette copies made by the Prince George Oral History Group.

File consists of 1 audiocassette of interviews possibly by Bridget Moran with Arnold Davis and Claude Foot.

Item consists of transcript of interviews with various guests including Bob Crosby, manager of the Simon Fraser Hotel; Sammy Labadiere (sp?); and Prince George resident Chuck Williams discussing the re-enactment of the Simon Fraser voyage down the Fraser River in 1958.

Item consists of transcript and tape summary of recorded interview with Gordon Wood, pharmacist, businessman and sports enthusiast who lived in Prince George c.1920s-c.1970s. He discusses various events that impacted Prince George including the Great Depression of the 1930s and set up of relief camps; the set up of army camps during World War II. He also discusses local politicians, his drugstore business and community members.

Collection consists of 30 audio cassettes containing 46 interviews conducted primarily by radio & TV broadcaster Bob Harkins with local personalities. Most recordings were conducted at CJCI Studios, Prince George. The station was launched in 1970 by Central Interior Radio, broadcasting on 620 AM. In 1983, Central Interior also launched CIBC-FM in the city. Central Interior Radio was acquired by the Vista Broadcast Group in 2005.

Subseries consists of materials collected and created by Kent Sedgwick for research on prominent individuals within Prince George and northern/central British Columbia. These individuals include various photographers, John Warren Meyer, Fannie Kinney, Father Adrien Morice, Henry Spencer Palmer, and Bridget Moran. The files also contain various other obituaries and materials regarding prominent individuals in Prince George.

Subseries consists of material collected and created by Kent Sedgwick for research regarding parks and outdoor recreation in Prince George. Material on parks includes Fort George Park (renamed to Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park in 2015); Cottonwood Island Park; Connaught Hill; Moore's Meadow; L.C. Gunn Park; the Nechako Cutbanks; Paddlewheel Park; Monkman Provincial Park; Fraser Canyon Park; and Carp Lake. Also includes information on the creation of plaques and monuments, including the Alexander Mackenzie monument; the “Arrival of Steel” CN railway plaque; heritage interpretative signs for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway; the Millar addition; and flooding and rivers. The files consists of various pamphlets and correspondence regarding the development of parks and the creation of interpretive materials.

Subseries consists of material collected by Kent Sedgwick for research regarding the communities along the East Line of the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway in Central British Columbia, particularly between Prince George and McBride. These communities and locations include, among others, Shelley, Willow River, Sinclair Mills, Longworth, Dunster, Tete Jaune, Valemount, Mount Robson, and the Yellowhead Pass. Research on these communities was conducted during Kent Sedgwick's involvement in the UNBC-led Upper Fraser Historical Geography Project. The files primarily consist of research notes, audio and transcripts of oral interviews, and photographs of the East Line communities.

Item consists of transcript of recorded interview with Reverend Francis Edward Runnalls who discusses his career as a United Church minister in Prince George c.1920s-1940s. Also discusses his historical works written about Northern British Columbia and Prince George.

Collection consists of records created, received, and collected by the Prince George Women's Centre, the Prince George Women's Collective, the Prince George Women's Equal Rights Association, the Prince George Women's Resource Centre, and the Prince George Women's Connection. This collection also features some materials on the Daughters of Lilith organization.

File consists of records created and collected by Kent Sedgwick regarding Cottonwood Island in connection with his employment with the City of Prince George Planning Department. Includes briefs, proposals, memoranda, correspondence, newspaper clippings, questionnaires, legal correspondence, meeting minutes, and photocopied excerpts from maps/plans.
