The fourth Duke of Sutherland was Cromartie Sutherland-Leveson-Gower who lived from 1851 to 27 June 1913. Toward the end of his life, the 4th Duke began moving his wealth and life to Canada. The Duke owned land across British Columbia and Alberta and contributed to various settlements, including Strathnaver, BC; Windermere, BC; Brooks, AB; and Clyde, AB. The Duke of Sutherland owned the Sutherland Land Company, creating and selling plots in BC and Alberta. He also worked closely with the Canadian Pacific Railway to support immigration and settlement of the area.

Sedgwick was the treasurer and later the president of the Alexander Mackenzie Voyageur Route Association. The association was formed to create the first official heritage trail in British Columbia. The trail is now called the Nuxalk-Carrier Grease Trail and is part of the route across Canada followed by Alexander Mackenzie in 1789 to 1793. The association aided in having the route recognized by each provincial government and the federal government. The files primarily consist of management plans, summary documents, booklets, and pamphlets created by the association, the provincial government, and Parks Canada.

Luther Colins Gunn was a survey engineer who had done work for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway and the Pacific Great Eastern Railway when he arrived in Prince George. The L.C. Gunn trail follows the same route used by Gunn when surveying the rail routes in the Prince George area. Includes: "Gunn Point" typescript document by Ted Williams for the Heritage Advisory Committee (1985); "A Proposal - The L.C. File consists of notes and reproductions relating to the Yukon Telegraph Trail, which runs through British Columbia from Ashcroft in the south to Atlin in the North. The telegraph line was constructed by the Dominion Government Telegraph Service from 1898 to 1901. The groundwork for this telegraph line was laid by the Collins Overland Telegraph and the Western Union Telegraph (Russian-American Telegraph). File also includes photographs depicting a cabin at Bobtail Lake along the telegraph trail (1977).

The North Coast Land Company owned and sold many plots of land alongside the developing Pacific Great Eastern Railway line in Fort George and Prince George. The company had an office on George Street. Russel Walker was a sales agent and manager of the North Coast Land Company in Fort George and Prince George, Walker had also become the publisher and editor of the Fort George Herald newspaper. Russel Walker worked in Prince George between 1910 and 1916. Rattenbury Lands was a company that held and sold land in the Prince George area during the 1910s and 1920s, as they had taken over most of the land from The North Coast Land Company. File primarily consists of photocopied newspaper clippings, including articles and advertisements for the North Coast Land Company.

Barnard's Express, later known as the British Columbia Express Company or BX, was a pioneer transportation company that served the Cariboo and Fraser-Fort George regions in British Columbia, Canada from 1861 until 1921.

File consists of a first draft of Masters thesis entitled "The Grand Trunk Pacific in Prince George: A Study in Mismanagement, 1909-1918" by Rhys Pugh. Also includes printed emails and notes regarding the thesis.

The Knox McCusker Collection consists primarily of photocopies of publications written by Mary Henry (1931-1935); annual reports; articles and papers written about Knox McCusker (1935-1997) as well as research materials pertaining to his life; articles and speeched written by Knox McCusker and general correspondence regarding surveying. Aside from these photocopies are some original records; namely: original correspondence between McCusker and G.G. Aitken (1934-1938); photographs (ca. 1930-1950); McCuskers 1909 certificate enabling him to be an Articled Pupil with the Dominion Land Surveyors; and an interview with McCusker conducted by J. Frank Willis (CBC, 1954).

Father Adrien Morice was a missionary and was ordained as a priest who came to British Columbia in 1880 to complete his ecclesiastical studies. After completing his schooling he was signed to the Williams Lake Mission where he worked closely with the Chilcotin peoples, learning their language and ministering. He continued to learn Chinook before moving to work at Stuart Lake with the Na'Kaztl'Tenneh Band in 1885, working with four divisions of the Carrier Tribes, the Alexandria, Quesnel, Blackwater, and Lhuskuz. Morice continued to use the Cree language and eventually published a monthly newspaper between 1881 and 1884 called "Tsettes Nahivelnik" (meaning "storyteller") using the Cree language. File primarily consists of handwritten notes by Kent Sedgwick regarding Father Adrien Morice and his work.
