Collection consists of records created and collected by Robert "Bob" Stowell (1922-2018) and his son Bill Stowell over the course of their careers in the British Columbia forestry industry.

Bob Stowell spent the majority of his 50+ year forestry career with The Pas Lumber Co. (B.C.) Ltd. in Prince George, BC as their Woodlands Manager between 1965-1991. Bob Stowell's records from The Pas Lumber Co. (B.C.) Ltd. include photographs, company histories, speeches, memoranda, correspondence, reports, and news clippings.

Bill Stowell worked for numerous forestry companies across British Columbia over the course of his forestry career (1977-2018). His collected material predominantly consists of forestry-related clippings from newspapers and periodicals, along with forestry-related publications like pamphlets, booklets, and reports. Represented among Bill Stowell's records are correspondence, memoranda, reports, and ephemera from Tolko Industries Ltd. and other various forestry companies.

File consists of material relating to Charles Melville Hays (May 16, 1856 - April 15, 1912) who was the president of the Grand Trunk Railway. He began working in the railroad business as a clerk at the age of 17 and quickly rose through the ranks of management to become the General Manager of the Wabash, St. Louis and Pacific Railway. He became Vice-President of that company in 1889 and remained as such until 1896 when he became General Manager of the Grand Trunk Railway (GTR) of Canada. He died in the sinking of the RMS Titanic before his plan was complete. File consists of newspaper clippings, correspondence, and reproductions of articles.

Frederick William Knewstubb, who first foresaw the possibility of the Kenney Dam/Nechako Reservoir project, which was carried out by the Aluminium Company of Canada (ALCAN). Knewstubb joined the Water Rights Branch as a draughtsman in 1911, became a hydrological engineer in 1926, and was Chief Hydrologic Engineer for the Water Rights Branch at the time of his death, 16 December 1937. Materials includes reproductions of articles, and correspondence.

Guy Lawrence

File consists of material relating to Guy Lawrence who wrote the autobiographical "Forty Years on the Yukon Telegraph", which details his arrival in Canada in 1898 from England to prospect in the Klondike Gold Fields. While en route, a gold strike was made at Atlin, B.C. that was closer and changed his plans. Spending two years working in various mining camps in Atlin, Lawrence joined the Yukon Telegraph Line, which was just being completed. This line ran 1900 miles from Vancouver, B.C. through Ashcroft to Hazleton, Whitehorse and Dawson City. Up to World War I, Lawrence worked from isolated wilderness cabins, relaying messages and repairing lines. After serving overseas in the war, he ran the telegraph office in Stewart, which ran a branch line along the Portland Canal to the company town of Anyox. He remained in Stewart for 26 years, retiring in 1946. By this time, due to the wireless, most of the line had been abandoned. Materials include reproductions of articles, and a transcribed oral history from Guy Lawrence, copied from the BC Provincial Archives.

File consists of material relating to Louis Adelbert LeBourdais (June 26, 1888 - September 27, 1947) was a telegraph operator, life insurance agent and political figure in British Columbia. He represented Cariboo in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia from 1937 to 1947 as a Liberal. LeBourdais had mining interests in the Barkerville area. He was also an amateur historian. From 1941 to 1948, he was a member of a Liberal-Conservative coalition in the provincial assembly. LeBourdais died in office in 1947. Materials include reproductions of articles, correspondence, and newspaper clippings.
