1976 Christmas Cards

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the Post Office Department and postal issues. Records include job advertisements for Skeena postmasters, newspaper clippings, reports, news releases, petitions, brochures, tenders for mail contracts, speeches from the Postmaster General. Subseries consists of cartographic material separated from Campagnolo’s government textual record files. Includes government maps of British Columbia created by the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources Surveys and Mapping Branch; tourist road maps of BC, Prince Edward Island, Corner Brook, and Regina; maps relating to the oil and gas industry; maps of site plans for proposed developments; and a map of Edmonton for the XI Commonwealth Games.

Subseries consists of correspondence regarding the Canadian Radio-television and Telecommunication Commission (CRTC) and communications issues. Includes correspondence related to cable and television service in British Columbia; radio stations in Skeena; complaints about television reception, coverage, and programming; and requests for television service extension and improvements. Also includes files on Crowder Communications Limited, a company which agreed to improve television services in areas of northern British Columbia and requested a radio station license.

Constituency

Subseries consists of records relating to the Skeena constituency, Skeena issues and events, and correspondence to and from Skeena constituents. Includes records relating to Prime Minister Trudeau’s visits to Skeena (including his 1976 trip to Haida Gwaii and 1978 trip to Prince George), briefing notes for community issues, and alphabetical files for community projects and events. Also includes records relating to elections in the constituency, including “Statements of the Poll” of submitted ballots for her 1974 election as Member of Parliament for Skeena.

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to federal and provincial elections. Records include newspaper clippings, reference material, candidate lists, campaign pamphlets, and reports. Includes correspondence regarding by-elections, electoral processes, and voting legislation.

Energy, Mines and Resources

Subseries consists of documents and correspondence regarding the Department of Energy, Mines and Resources and issues about mining, energy generation, and pipelines in northern British Columbia. Includes correspondence about the state of energy in Canada; wind, solar, and other forms of alternative energy; conservation of energy; use of nuclear power, coal, oil, and natural gas in Canada; and general inquiries about the oil and gas industry. File consists of Campagnolo's travel itineraries from January 1977 to April 1978. Includes the itinerary for Dr Sandor Beckl, State Secretary and President of the National Bureau of Sport and Physical Education in Hungary. Also includes a news release concerning a sod turning ceremony for a Participark in Brampton Ontario, a numerical list of incoming mail, a brief on marina assistance projects, correspondence regarding a marina at MK Bay in Kitimat, notes, and memoranda.

Justice

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the Department of Justice and inquiries or statements of opinion regarding legislation. Records include reports, copies of acts, speeches by the Minister of Justice, and newspaper clippings. Includes correspondence regarding judicial vacancies in British Columbia, the Criminal Code Amendment Act, the Human Rights Bill, the legalization of marijuana, legislation related to women’s issues, and various Department of Justice programs.

Labour

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the Department of Labour and employment issues. Records include news releases, newspaper clippings, speech by the Minister of Labour, copies of bills and acts, and reports. Includes correspondence regarding work safety, strikes and labour disputes, the Affirmative Action Program, employment conditions, the closure of Information Canada, the Canada Labour Code, union membership, and the Aluminum Company of Canada (Alcan) dispute of 1975.

Manpower and Immigration

Subseries consists of correspondence and accompanying informational material related to the Department of Manpower and Immigration as well as immigration and unemployment issues in general, particularly as they pertain to northern British Columbia. Some of these items were displayed in Campagnolo’s Ottawa office, as seen in photographs. Also includes some small items separated from Campagnolo’s government textual record files that accompanied correspondence.
