Photograph depicts a spur that terminated close to Red Bridge on the north side of Thompson River. This end section of 200 yards had not been in use for at least 15 years. For 2-3 months near the date the photograph was taken, it was used to load scrap metal.

Believed that the year the photograph was taken was the first that cars of the company were stored in Kamloops as before they were stored in Vancouver. The initial experience was bad because there was an unseasonable cold snap in November and December that froze all the batteries underneath the cars and ruined them (bursting occured).
