File contains greeting cards, correspondence, articles written by both Audrey L'Heureux and Gerry Andrews, a booklet on land surveying, and reproductions from the G. Smedley Andrews collection at BC Archives. Correspondence includes letters to and from L'Heureux and her publisher Northern B.C. File consists of material regarding George Mercer Dawson who in 1875 joined the Geological Survey of Canada. His survey of BC strongly influenced government decisions on the proposed route of the Canadian Pacific Railway. Dawson was a charter Royal Society of Canada member (1882) and by 1883 was the assistant director of the Geological Survey of Canada. Includes reproductions of reports written by Dawson, articles, and research materials.

Marcus Smith was a railway surveyor and in 1872 he was appointed as deputy to the Engineer-in-Chief of the Canadian Pacific Railway and took charge of British Columbia surveys between 1876-78. He worked as a surveyor for the CPR until 1886.

File consists of notes, clippings, and reproductions relating to a failed tunnel build for the Grand Trunk Pacific Railway line between McBride and Goat River and a potential homestead on the land surrounding the tunnel. The land was later owned by Russ Purvis of Dunster in 2006.
