Paul worked as a teacher in the Chilcotin and Bella Coola regions of BC and the primary items of the collection are 8 recordings generated by her with members of First Nations Communities at Alkali, Red Stone, Kleena Kleene and Bella Coola from 1964-1971. There are 8 original audio reel to reel recordings (and 2 tapes which are copies of the recordings later created by P.J. Thomas, who accompanied Paul on the interviews). Recordings include stories and songs.

Subseries consists of material collected and created by Kent Sedgwick for research regarding Indigenous Peoples within British Columbia. These files primarily consist of audio recordings and transcripts of personal oral interviews, documents regarding perceptions of Indigenous peoples, research on historical interactions, Dakelh (Carrier) language, and treaty information including the Nisga'a treaty and Treaty 8. Includes materials on the Carrier Sekani First Nations whose traditional territory includes north central British Columbia and includes the Ts'il Kaz Koh First Nation, Nadleh Whut'en, Saik'uz First Nation, Stellat'en First Nation, Takla Lake First Nation, and Wet'suwet'en First Nations.

File consists of a copy of Treaty no. 8 originally created on June 21, 1899.

The first portion of the film begins with a map of Tweedsmuir Provincial Park and then cuts to a motor boat on a lake, possibly Fenton Lake, and men fishing on the lake. The next clip is of more men fly-fishing on a river, possibly the Bella Coola River or the Dean River. A short clip follows of two children in a boat with a man pushing them along with a rod. There is footage of the scenic landscape, which is most likely the Bella Coola Valley, and a cabin, which is believed to be Elsey's. A woman believed to be Mrs. Elsey sits on the porch and then arranges her flowers. The film shows some ducks on the lake, two squirrels playing and the Elsey's dog in a boat. Mrs. Elsey pulls the boat ashore in the next clip and then the film shows her working in her vegetable garden. There is more scenic filming of the valley and a man cutting down a tree with a chain saw. There is footage of a grouse beating it's wings, chipmunk looking for seeds, birds in a marsh, three moose in a marsh, and a bald eagle perched and flying.

There is a break in the film and the second portion begins with footage of cabin in the mountains, a baby in a cradle, an elder First Nations woman, and a gathering of First Nations peoples by a tent. There is a shot of a picnic site sign labelled "Burnt Bridge Picnic site Parks Branch" and another sign that reads "Kalyskt Creek." There is then footage of the creek and a truck driving down a dirt road. There is then a group of people boarding a motor boat in a river and driving up and down the river, which could possibly be the Dean River or the Bella Coola River. There is then more filming of a cabin in the mountains, possibly Elsey's, and a man cleaning a large fish he caught. Then there is footage of men in a rubber raft floating down a river and fishing from the raft, and then some other men traveling in a motor boat.

There is an another break and the third portion of the film begins with footage of birds on a lake and footage from a boat showing the mountains. On land there is filming of two bears walking, men hunting the bear, killing the bear, and skinning the bear. The film cuts back to the boat and the filming the mountains along the water. The people on the boat then pull up crab traps from the water and cook the crabs on the boat. The film ends with footage of salmon jumping and a man filleting his fish catch.

Subseries contains materials relating to Dr. Ainley's research on women in the fields of science and engineering. Ainley dedicated much of her career to this topic, which resulted in a number of publications. Subseries includes material relating to the submission and editing of Ainley's chapter, "Marriage and Scientific Work in Twentieth-Century Canada: the Berkeleys in Marine Biology and the Hoggs in Astronomy" in "Creative Couples in the Sciences" about the experiences of two scientific couples: Edith and Cyril Berkeley and Frank and Helen Hogg. Materials for this publication include correspondence, edited manuscripts, permissions form templates and a call and instructions for submissions. This subseries also includes research material for a review of Margaret Gillett and Ann Beer's book, "Our Own Agendas: Autobiographical Essays by Women Associated with McGill University," including notes, correspondence and short biographies of women from McGill University. Subseries also contains research on Canadian women in science including photocopied archival materials from various Canadian universities. This subseries also contains materials relating to Ainley's book, "Creating complicated lives: women and science at English-Canadian universities, 1880-1980" and Ainley's chapter, "Soaring to New Heights: Changes in the Life Course of Mabel McIntosh" in "Great Danes." Subseries consists of research relating to women in the Royal Society of Canada and on individual women scientists and engineers. Research materials consist of photocopies of published and archival research materials, correspondence, and applications for grans and ethics reviews. This subseries also contains approximately 80 overhead transparencies from presentations.

File consists of records created and collected by Kent Sedgwick regarding the removal of Island Cache residents after the 1972 flood and suggestions for creation of park on Cottonwood Island. The majority of the file consists of reproduced City of Prince George records. Includes memoranda to and from the mayor, city manager, and aldermen; meeting minutes of the Flood Committee; city reports on Cottonwood Island and the flooding situation; a listing of Cottonwood Island properties offered for sale to the municipality; a report entitled "Cottonwood Island - A report on desirable land use" (Nov. 1970); a "Proposal for Cottonwood Island as a Park Reserve" (1973); a document from the Cottonwood Island Study Committee; correspondence from Mary Fallis; and a City of Prince George memorandum regarding a Public Hearing.

Item consists of transcript and tape summary of recorded interview with Gordon Wood, pharmacist, businessman and sports enthusiast who lived in Prince George c.1920s-c.1970s. He discusses various events that impacted Prince George including the Great Depression of the 1930s and set up of relief camps; the set up of army camps during World War II. He also discusses local politicians, his drugstore business and community members.

File consists of notes, clippings, and reproductions relating to Indigenous Peoples of British Columbia. Includes: "A selected list of publications on the Indians of British Columbia" published by the British Columbia Provincial Museum (1970) and "Les Indiens Des Cordilleres" printed by the National Museum of Canada (7 Feb. 1939). Series consists of photocopies of articles; correspondence; bibliographies; draft and published versions of articles, conference proceedings, and monographs; interviews and transcripts; recordings of conferences; statistical data; questionnaires; consent, submission, and other forms; pamphlets and other material from conferences; applications for grants and funding; overhead transparencies; photographs; and notes.

It includes excerpts regarding Canadian Constitutional history, the Indian Act, Indian Band council procedure regulations, mineral and mining rights within reserves, Indian land policy and Indian reserve allocation in British Columbia.

Fonds predominately reflects Ainley's research as a professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. Her research is arranged into thirteen subseries. A series of electronic records relating, predominately, to Ainley’s research includes: draft manuscripts, conference proceedings, bibliographies, transcripts, correspondence, curricula vitae and other records. A series of professional development records includes records from conferences she attended and occasionally presented at as well as other professional development activities that she undertook. A series of correspondence predominantly consists of personal correspondence but also includes professional correspondence related to her research and occupation.

Collection consists of documents and a photograph album from the Department of Indian Affairs including publications, working papers, and reports related to First Nations affairs and administration.
