This short colour film depicts logging and sawmill operations at Ferguson Lake in March 1959. Scenes include tree felling, log hauling equipment, the Ferguson Lake lumber yard, use of Ferguson Lake to float logs, and the inside operations of the Ferguson Lake sawmill. Film also includes a brief clip of family film footage of the McKay family home and garden on Melville Street in Prince George with scenes showing a Newfoundland dog named Barney with Donald McKay and Joan McKay.

Dear Mrs. Cooper, I am up in the wild part of BC now where men horses and everything get drowned every day, sometimes automobiles get drowned also. This is the way we travel up where I am now. I saw a boat upside down in this Canyon it had a bundle of blankets tied on it and one oar was dancing in the whirlpool. This made my hair stand straight up and down.”

Photograph depicts B.C.R. locomotive # 586 derailed with two men arriving in a company truck. Gravel and switch is visible in the foreground while industrial storage tanks are visible in the background. Photographer: "Brock Gable" stamped in red on verso. Typed note on verso reads: "When we say May Day, we mean May Day.......specifically May1, 1985. Our locomotive, BCR # 586 made the front page of the "Citizen" that day. though not the way anyone intended. In fact, it was downright embarrassing and unflattering. Nearing the end of its career, # 586 was involved in a minor hist and run in the BCR yard and parted company with the rails. As is evident in the picture, BCR's big hook" is standing by and help is on the way. No! we don't know if anyone got the other guy's license. (Photo Credit: Brock Gable ///Citizen). My Two Year Term on the Teen Town Council

This scrapbook, entitled "My Two Year Term on the Teen Town Council", was created by Howard Foot to document his involvement in the Prince George Teen Town Council. Howard Foot was the elected "mayor" of the Prince George Teen Town Council for the 1958-1959 term. The British Columbia centennial year was 1958; Teen Town was involved in centennial event planning. The scrapbook includes newspaper clippings from the Prince George Citizen relating to Prince George Teen Town events and the Teen Town Council. These clippings include mention of other Teen Town Council members, including Brian Fawcett who later became a nationally-recognized Canadian writer.

Original photographic prints and reproduced photographs relating to Prince George Teen Town are pasted in and interleaved into the scrapbook. Also interleaved into the scrapbook is a 26 February 1959 issue of the Prince George Echo newspaper. The newspaper issue has a feature article about a Prince George custom car show organized by Howard Foot.
