Fonds predominately reflects Ainley's research as a professor at the University of Northern British Columbia. Her research is arranged into thirteen subseries. A series of personal records includes: retirement activities, her hobbies of art and writing, diplomas, and photographs. The series on her administrative and supervisory activities of professorship of women’s studies and environmental studies is arranged according to the major activities with which Ainley was involved and includes: meeting minutes, memoranda, reports, correspondence, employment, and other records. A series of electronic records relating, predominately, to Ainley’s research includes: draft manuscripts, conference proceedings, bibliographies, transcripts, correspondence, curricula vitae and other records. A series of professional development records includes records from conferences she attended and occasionally presented at as well as other professional development activities that she undertook. A series of correspondence predominantly consists of personal correspondence but also includes professional correspondence related to her research and occupation.

The poster lists the names of World War II Canadian Indigenous soldiers from Cheslatta, Lake Babine, Stoney Creek, Tl'azt'en Nation, Mcleod Lake, Lheit-Lit'en Nation, Stellat'en First Nation, Nak'azdli, Broman Lake, Telkwa, Nadleh Whut'en, Burns Lake, Grassy Plains, and Nazko. This file consists of photocopy reproductions of three oral history tape transcriptions of interviews with Father Pierre Poullet of the Missionary Oblates of Mary Immaculate (OMI). Poullet was active in missionary work in northern BC between 1937 and [1998?] ; these transcripts mention Lower Post, Telegraph Creek, Dease Lake, McDame, Fort Nelson, Muncho Lake, and the Alaska Highway. The transcripts are titled "Earlier tape", "Tape of Lower Post", and "Tape of Fort Nelson".

This file consists of copies of two manuscript items relating to the history of the Oblates in Northern British Columbia; the third item is a copy of the transcription and translation of one of these accounts. Includes:

• A copy of a type-written unpublished account possibly written c. 1922 entitled "Indian Schools of Fort St. James and Fraser Lake, B.C." The account is written by Father Elphage Allard, OMI on the founding of the residential school at Fort St. James and later of the building of the residential school at Lejac, near Fraser Lake, BC. Allard refers to his, and his younger siblings', also named Father Allard, involvement in the building of the residential schools at Fort St. James in 1916-1917 and subsequently at Fraser Lake ca. 1920-1922. Father Allard provides a detailed account of daily life and spiritual work conducted by the Oblates at the schools including daily routines of the First Nations students, dormitory life, educational curriculum, religious education, and arrival of a group of the Sisters of the Infant Jesus Congregation to assist at the school. The account provides descriptions of the 1918 flu epidemic and deaths that occurred among communities at Fort St. James, Pinchi, Tachi, Fraser Lake and Lake Porteur; involvement of the Anglo-Europeans in the construction of the schools; and interactions with the Chinese cook and Indian Agent in the communities. The manuscript also provides brief account of Allard's journey to provide religious services to other First Nations communities including Fort Graham, McLeod Lake, Atlin and Whitehorse. Both Father Allards were subsequently dismissed from involvement in the Fraser Lake School in 1922.
• A copy of a handwritten account by Father Jean-Marie Lejeune entitled "Comment la Sténographie a été introduite dez les sauvages" written by Lejeune at the Indian Missionary, Kamloops, B.C. c.1890-93 in which he describes his introduction of the shorthand in British Columbia to First Nations in the Kamloops region and the subsequent publication of the newsletter entitled Kamloops Wawa.
• A transcription and translation of Father Lejeune's account by William Poser with annotations.

File consists of collected newspaper clippings regarding Lejac Residential School, a residential school near Fraser Lake, BC that operated from 1922 to 1976 by the Roman Catholic Church under contract with the Government of Canada.

Series consists of images pertaining the Collison family, North Coastal First Nations communities, means of transportation along North Coastal British Columbia, and various church structures and religious events.

This 16 page booklet includes illustrations and a program of events, along with a short history of Williams Lake, a short history of stampedes, a "Dude Dictionary", and a poem entitled "The Old Cow Puncher". Also includes a summary about the "Cariboo Indians" (possibly referring to the Secwepemc Nation and other First Nations near the Williams Lake area) contemporary to the time that contains information that is now considered inaccurate.

Item is a photocopy of a draft proposal document by Kitamaat Village Council and Conservation International Canada entitled "An Integrated Approach to the Co-management of Fisheries Resources: The ecology of oolichan in Haisla Territory".

This unpublished manuscript, authored by W.H. Collison and handwritten by Joyce Collison, comprises 29 identifiable chapters. Content of this manuscript appears to be focused upon the retelling of First Nations stories. The donor identified that this manuscript was intended for publication but was never completed.

Series consists of journals, draft manuscripts, correspondence, CMS documents and orders, speeches, sermons all written by or to Archdeacon W. H. Collison. Series also contains correspondence to W.E. Collison and Joyce Collison, genealogical information on the Collison family, newspaper clippings and a school paper written by Archdeacon Collison's grandaughter Katy.

Series contains publications on the following subjects: linguistics, First Nations studies, anthropology, museum studies, the Missionary Society of the Church of England, the Metlakatla Inquiry, material culture and Canadian geography. It is believed that items published prior to 1922 had been collected by the Archdeacon W.H. Collison, while those published post 1922 (the year W.H. Collison passed away) were collected by both his son W.E. Collison and then his grandaughter Joyce Collison.

The Archdeacon W.H. Collison fonds consists of textual materials, maps, published materials and photographs all documenting Collison’s life and work with North Coastal First Nations communities in British Columbia. Types of records found within this fonds include manuscripts, sermon notes, correspondence, oral history summaries, monographs, cartographic items, photographs and postcards. The Collison fonds also includes some records created by his children and grandchildren as well as a family tree created in 1986. The Collison fonds has been divided into four series.

File predominantly consists of correspondence to Rev. W.H. Collison from the Church Missionary Society. However, some letters in this file are also from individual parishioners, fellow clergymen, Massett councillors, and the American Geographical Society.

This file contains handwritten and typed notes and drafts of First Nations legends, addresses and manuscripts. It is believed this material was authored by W.H. and W.E. Collison although none is signed or dated.

Notebook contains Collison's recollections of local history as he heard it, and of the events he encountered during some of his time in ministry.

Notebook contains two stories: "The Finding of the Crystals" and "Tit for Tat or The Porcupine and the Beaver". These stories are also found in the Collison manuscript.

File contains linguistic notes prepared by W.H. Collison and sermons written by W.H. Collison in various First Nations languages.
