File consists of the 1970 edition of "Prince George Street Names A-Z" compiled by the Prince George branch of Canadian Federation of University Women.

Subseries contains material collected and created by Kent Sedgwick for research regarding various areas surrounding Prince George. Includes materials on the Crooked River area; Summit Lake; Ferguson Lake; Chief Lake; Salmon Valley; Mud River; Beaverly; Buckwater; Chilako River; Indian Reserve no. 4; Blackburn; Pineview; Stone Creek; Red Rock; Woodpecker; and Hixon. The files primarily consist of research notes and photographs depicting the communities.

File consists of clippings, notes, and reproductions relating to discussions of downtown Prince George development. Includes: "Core plans: 'Right location, wrong design'" in the Prince George Citizen newspaper (Feb. 1982) and "Historical continuity and the proposed town centre" brief submitted to City Council by Heritage Advisory Committee (July 1981).

Collection consists of records created, received, and collected by the Prince George Women's Centre, the Prince George Women's Collective, the Prince George Women's Equal Rights Association, the Prince George Women's Resource Centre, and the Prince George Women's Connection. This collection also features some materials on the Daughters of Lilith organization.

File consists of a photocopy of a 1955 Northwest Digest magazine containing a special article on the city of Prince George, entitled "Prince George, Lusty Lady of the West" by Arthur Downs.

The collection consists of 9 photographs and copies of photographs showing scenes of Prince Rupert and area, groups of townspeople, a stone totem pole at Metlakatla, and a man poling a dug-out canoe probably on the Skeena River. It includes two newspaper clippings, one from the BC Saturday Sunset dated September 14, 1912 and another from The Globe dated Saturday March 23, 1907. The bound volumes of the Prince Rupert Empire newspaper were transferred to Special Collections. See accompanying note.

This commemorative souvenir was produced by the Prince Rupert Pioneers’ Association in 1914. Its content provides a textual overview of the individual persons who pioneered the establishment of Prince Rupert, as well as, their associated portrait photographs. This publication also provides a brief introduction to the history of Prince Rupert and includes some related historical photographs.

The files also contain various other obituaries and materials regarding prominent individuals in Prince George.

Includes: "A heritage to remember" typescript document prepared by the Prince George Joint Heritage Advisory Committee (Dec. 1983); "Heritage aspects of 886 Vancouver Street" typescript letter sent to Alderman Monica Becott from Kent Sedgwick (2 May 1991); and "House at 1677 - 7th Ave". typed letter to Ed Chanter from Kent Sedgwick (9 Sept. 1994). Also includes photographs depicting houses at the addresses 1651 Fifth Avenue, 1085 Vancouver Street, 983 Vancouver Street, 1675 Fifth Avenue, 1643 Fifth Avenue, 886 Vancouver Street, 1734 Twelfth Avenue (1991).

The Publications series consists of news bulletins and newspapers documenting the community and work life of the residents of Cassiar, BC. Content includes text and photographs, as well as jokes, comics and games.

On March 7, 1956 the Cassiar Reporters Guild published one issue of an untitled newspaper simply titled “The Cassiar?” (vol.1, no.1) along with a “name that newspaper” contest call out to the local community. It is believed that no other issue of this first volume was published until December 7, 1957 when The Asbestos Sheet (vol.2, no.1) was published. The Asbestos Sheet, was generally published twice a month and ran from December 1957 to September 1976; after which time both its name and its format changed: the 8-1/2 x 10” news bulletin changing to an 11 x 17” newspaper; and The Asbestos Sheet becoming the Cassiar Courier. The Courier was published monthly from fall 1976 until February 1991 when it stopped circulation shortly before the closure of both the mine and the company town.

File consists of a CD, an audiocassette, and a typed transcript of an interview with Trelle Morrow conducted by Kent Sedgwick. Trelle Morrow was an architect in Prince George between 1950 and 2000 and during the interview in 2007 he was a retired member of the Architectural Institute of B.C. The interview includes discussions on the buildings Trelle Morrow contributed to in Prince George and his life surrounding his work.

Kent Sedgwick’s research subject files contain original research notes, interviews and oral histories, news clippings, and collected primary and secondary sources. The series also includes both original and reproduction photographs, audio recordings, and maps. The subject files primarily relate to the history, urban planning, and historical geography of the Central Interior of British Columbia, especially Prince George area and the East Line communities over the course of the 20th century. They also include extensive notes on geographic features, landscapes, interpretative trails, architectural history, industrial history, history of Western exploration and land survey, and the First Nations history of the region.
