Arthur Holland Album

Series consists of a photograph album from A. H. Holland, a British Columbia Land Surveyor, that was created while working in the Central Interior, the Cariboo, the Chilcotin and southeast British Columbia. This album visually documents steamboat, stagecoach and horse travel in British Columbia and also captures the prepatory work and dawn of the age of rail travel.

This series consists of 191 black and white photographs (and computer disc copies) of Prentiss Gray's month-long trip on horseback when he travelled north from Jasper Park to Willmore Park. This series also includes 1 map identifying the trip route from Jasper Park, north.

Peace River Expedition Photo Album

This collection consists of 1 photo album originally belonging to Sydney E. Junkins which contains 23 photographs and 4 sectional linen maps which depict Hon. Dr.James Horace King and party's trip down the Peace River from 19 to 31 August 1927. Includes a hand-written and typed copy of "Peace River Trip" itinerary for a subsequent trip 8-15 September 1927.

Series documents H.G.T. Perry's political activities primarily in British Columbia. They include his tenure as Mayor of Prince George (1917-1918; and 1920); as Member of the Legislative Assembly for Fort George (1920-1928 & 1933-1945); as Speaker (1933-1937)and Deputy Speaker (1924 to 1928) of the Legislative Assembly; as Minister of Education (1941- 45); and as Chairman of the Post-War Rehabilitation Council (1942-194?). This series is comprised of significant materials covering a wide range of topics related to Northern British Columbia (such as Northern BC political and economic developments); World War II and Post-War Rehabilitation and politics in British Columbia.

Types of records include: Speakers' Decisions (1877-1943) in the BC Legislative Assembly, memoranda, publications, reports, correspondence, advertisements, telegrams, resolutions, speeches, radio addresses, proposals, maps, plans, file notes, newspaper clippings, scrapbooks, ephemera, and postcards and WWII and Post-War Printed Material.

Publications Series

Series contains publications on the following subjects: linguistics, First Nations studies, anthropology, museum studies, the Missionary Society of the Church of England, the Metlakatla Inquiry, material culture and Canadian geography. It is believed that items published prior to 1922 had been collected by the Archdeacon W.H. Collison, while those published post 1922 (the year W.H. Collison passed away) were collected by both his son W.E. Collison and then his grandaughter Joyce Collison.

Audio Recordings

Series consists of audio recordings created by linguist / educator R.J. Baker while studying the Carrier language in Nautley, B.C. from 1961-1962. Topics pertaining to the Carrier people as recorded on these audio reels include: singing, drumming, storytelling in both Carrier and English; language sessions whereby English words/phrases are translated into Carrier; children’s playground songs; and a partial recording of a Potlatch. There are other topics recorded on these audio reels that do not directly relate to R.J. Baker’s linguist investigation into the Carrier language, including linguistic lectures. The Fyfe Lake Sawmill series consists of administrative, financial, and operational records created by Fyfe Lake Sawmills. The series includes labour, logging, sale, and order records. Also comprises correspondence between Fyfe Lake Fir and a number of individuals, organizations and companies. Records created by the Northern Interior Lumberman’s Association, equipment manuals, and instructional publications that were collected and used by Fyfe Lake are also included.
